Agent access (MCP)
Use CVRevise from your own AI assistant
Connect Hermes, Claude Code, Codex or another MCP app to your CVRevise account with a personal key. Your assistant talks to CVRevise AI, which writes and revises your CVs. The work is paid from your CVRevise credits.
Agent access is opening step by step. If your account page does not show it yet, it is not available for your account.
How it works
Create a key
On your account page, choose the permissions, a daily spending cap, the approval mode and the default reasoning level.
Connect your assistant
Paste the setup message into your assistant, or run the commands below yourself.
Ask for what you need
For example: “Tailor my CV for this job, show me the changes and give me the PDF.”
What your assistant can do
- Read your profile, CVs and conversations.
- Talk to CVRevise AI: analyze a job post, ask for a Jev score, plan and write a tailored CV or cover letter.
- Run a CV plan, follow its progress, review the draft and save it as a new CV or as changes to an existing one.
- Get a one-time PDF download link, rename documents and undo saved changes.
What it cannot do
- Change your password, email, payments or account settings.
- Delete documents.
Setup
The easiest way: after you create a key, copy the setup message from your account page and paste it into your assistant. It reads the guide and runs the right commands. To do it yourself, pick your app:
Option 1
Let your assistant do it
Paste the setup message into Hermes. It runs two hermes config set commands, because a Hermes agent cannot edit its own .env file.
Option 2
Or run these yourself
Replace <KEY> with your key. It starts with cvrk_ and is shown only once, when you create it.
hermes config set mcp_servers.cvrevise.url "https://cvrevise.com/mcp"
hermes config set mcp_servers.cvrevise.headers.Authorization "Bearer <KEY>"
hermes mcp test cvrevise
hermes skills install https://cvrevise.com/agent-kit/cvrevise/SKILL.md
In your own terminal you can also run the command below. It asks for the key and keeps it in Hermes’s .env file.
hermes mcp add cvrevise --url https://cvrevise.com/mcp --auth header
Check
Run hermes mcp test cvrevise, or ask Hermes to call whoami.
Remove
hermes mcp remove cvrevise
Option 1
Let your assistant do it
Paste the setup message into Claude Code. It runs one claude mcp add command; start a new session afterwards.
Option 2
Or run these yourself
Replace <KEY> with your key. It starts with cvrk_ and is shown only once, when you create it.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user cvrevise https://cvrevise.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <KEY>"
claude mcp get cvrevise
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/cvrevise
curl -fsSL https://cvrevise.com/agent-kit/cvrevise/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/cvrevise/SKILL.md
Check
Run claude mcp get cvrevise, or ask Claude Code to call whoami.
Remove
claude mcp remove cvrevise --scope user
Option 1
Let your assistant do it
Paste the setup message into Codex. It adds a block to ~/.codex/config.toml; start a new session afterwards. Codex may ask you before it writes outside the project or uses the network.
Option 2
Or run these yourself
Replace <KEY> with your key. It starts with cvrk_ and is shown only once, when you create it.
[mcp_servers.cvrevise]
url = "https://cvrevise.com/mcp"
http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer <KEY>" }codex mcp list
mkdir -p ~/.agents/skills/cvrevise
curl -fsSL https://cvrevise.com/agent-kit/cvrevise/SKILL.md -o ~/.agents/skills/cvrevise/SKILL.md
Check
Run codex mcp list, or ask Codex to call whoami.
Remove
codex mcp remove cvrevise
Option 1
Let your assistant do it
Any app that supports remote Streamable HTTP MCP servers with a custom header can connect. These apps are not tested by us.
Option 2
Or run these yourself
Replace <KEY> with your key. It starts with cvrk_ and is shown only once, when you create it.
https://cvrevise.com/mcp
Authorization: Bearer <KEY>
Check
Ask the app to call whoami.
Remove
Remove the cvrevise server in the app’s settings.
Reasoning levels
Low
Reasoning stays on and thinking is short, so answers come faster.
High
Thinking is longer, so answers take more time and use more output tokens.
Thinking is billed as output tokens. You choose the default level for each key; your assistant can pick either level per request. Token prices are shown on your account page.
Safety and control
- A key works like a password. Anyone who has it can use your credits within the key’s limits.
- Each key has a daily spending cap. Paid work stops when the cap is reached.
- With the approval mode “I approve every run and save”, your assistant prepares the work and you approve it on cvrevise.com.
- You can see each key’s activity and revoke it at any time on your account page.
Limits and fair use
- Agent requests share your daily limits with the website.
- Some job sites forbid automation tools or automated applications. Follow the rules of the sites you use.
CVRevise AI does the writing through our AI providers. Your assistant also sends what it reads to its own AI provider. The privacy policy names every provider. Read the privacy policy
